With the Vintage Deluxe V3, Finnish boutique-builder Darkglass not only serve up warm, overdriven tube tone but offer 4-band equalisation with full frequency flexibility. This means that the Low is set to 100 Hz and the Treble at 5 kHz, while the Hi Mids control can actually be switched to either 1.5 kHz or 3 kHz, and the Lo Mids can be set to 500 Hz or 1 kHz. Add that to the fact that all four controls can cut or boost the signal with 12 dBs, and you quickly realise that this stompbox offers nothing short of total control of the sound of your bass.

The Vintage Deluxe V3: A Wealth of Overdriven Sounds

Even though the foundation sound of this Darkglass pedal retains great balance due to the natural-sounding compression, there's nothing stopping from you adding some serious dynamics to your play. Using the Drive control, the overdrive effect can be reigned in or opened up as needed, while the Level knob is used to dial in the right volume and more clean signal can be mixed in using Blend pot.
